PLACES TO VISIT AFTER LOCKDOWN IN INDIA


Due to recent outbreak of COVID-19 virus the tourism industry has come to a standstill. Right noe, we all have to follow certain precautions to protect us against this deadly virus and stay safe. Currently, it is better to stay at home and wait for the time when we all can step out of our houses without any fear. But then also we have to take certain precautions and follow the basic safety guidelines. And we know that this time is not far away when we can enjoy our next tour. Here ia a list of beautiful yet safe locations in India where you can visit ahter lockdown. I am going to share the tour guide with a budget for all these places and most importantly, here i will tell you why you should consider the places as your next vacation destination.

1] CHERRAPUNJI

It is a beautiful yet scenic place from Northeast India that is Cherrapunji or Sohra. This is a beautiful hilly village located in the Northeast Indian State Meghalaya. The place is well known for receiving the highest amount of rainfall in the World and because of this reason you can see some of the spectacular waterfall of the country here. The reason behind choosing this place as your coming up vacation destination is as follows :

1] The place is less crowded than the nearby Shiolng City which is the capital of Meghalaya. So, you can easily maintain social distancing over here.

2] The state Meghalaya is well known for it's cleanliness. The cleanest village of Asia Mawlynglong is located here at a little distance away from Sohra. So, you can be absolutely tension free about the hygiene systems. And we all know that maintaining proper hygiene is a must to defend the deadly coronavirus. It is also well-known that Meghalaya has remarkably less Covid-19 positive cases.

3] Thought the place is a bit remote, still you can find comfortable accommodation and delicious food here within a small budget.

4] There are lots and lots of places to visit with abundant natural beauty, To name a few World=Famous seven sister waterfalls, Wakaba Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawkdok Dympep valley viewpoint - from this place you can witness the lush green hills surrounding the valley, and Mawsmai Cave where you can see some beautiful natural limestone structures. How to reach Here : The place doesn't have its own airport or railway station. The nearest international airport and railway station of Cherrapunji are Guwahati. From there you have to reach cherrapunji by road. Time taken will be around 4 and a half hours. The taxi fare for this trip is around Rs. 3,500. The train fare up to Guwahati is around Rs. 1,500 to 2,500 for 3 tier Ac coach. The fare varies depending upon the distance from your town. The flight fare will be around Rs. 3,000 to 4,500 one way. The accommodation and food will cost around Rs. 1,600 per person per day. Sightseeing cost will be around Rs. 2,000 to 3,000. So, overall it is a nice location to visit for a 3 nights 4 days tour within a short budget after this lockdown.

2] NORTH SIKKIM

The state Sikkim is a renowned tourist location mostly known for ample natural beauty. This is the place where you can mostly enjoy the beauty of the Himalayan Mountain range. North Sikkim is one of the uninhabited places of the country due to its harsh weather condition. At the same time, it is also a place where natural beauty knows no bound. It is the place where you can see snow-clad mountains all around you, gushing waterfalls at the corner of the main road, opulent green forests all over. As you climb higher you will notice that the beauty of the surrounding is changing rapidly to desert scrub near northern tundra. Now comes why you pick the place as your coming up travel destination.

1] As i mentioned earlier, it is mostly deserted due to extreme climate condition and hence the chances of virus infection are nominal here. The state Sikkim also has only a few corona positive cases. 

2] The accommodation and food. Though much less in number but still you can get comfortable home stays in all the places here with good home-coocked food. 

3] In terms of cleanliness, the place is mostly clean dur to the lack of human interference.

4] You can visit some of the top most beautiful places in the country like Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang Valley and Gurudongmar Lake here. Moreover, if you are a trekking lover then this place has lots for you. Many beautiful trekking routes start from the district headquarter of North Sikkim Mangan.

How to Reach Here : North Sikkim can be reached by road from New Jalpaiguri railway station or Pakyong airport. Reserves car fare from NJP or Bagdogra is around Rs. 4,000 which can vary due to season or road condition. Shared cab will charge around Rs. 600 per person. Time taken will be around 6-7 hours depending upon road condition and traffic. From Pakyong the time taken will be around 5 hours via Gangtok. The accommodation and food will cost around Rs. 1,600 per person per day. Sightseeing cost will be around Rs. 4,000 per day with reserves cab. Shares cab will charge around Rs. 1,200 per person per day. Charges may vary depending upon season and road condition. So, it can be a great location to visit for a 4 nights 5 days tour after this lockdown. 

3] SARAHAN

A tour to the beautiful Sarahan and Sangla Valley of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Unlike the overcrowded Shimla and Manali, these two places are much less crowded and have no less natural beauty than Shimla and Manali. So, you can safety enjoy the beauty of Himalayan Mountains here. Surrounded by snow covered mountains, evergreen forests, apples and cherry orchards these places are like heaven on earth. You can visit Sun Temple at Nirath the only Sun temple of North India, Bhimkali Temple One of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Devi Shakti, Shrikhand Peak at Sarahan and beautiful Baspa River ar Sangla Valley.

1] Like the other two places, you can visit the places safely as these are relatively less crowded and hygienic due to lack of human intervene.

How to Reach Here : Sarahan can be reached from Shimla or Chandigarh. Bus services are available from both these places to Sarahan. Time taken to reach Saharan from Chandigarh is around 8 hours and from Shimla, it is nearly 4 and a half hours. Bus fare is within Rs. 1,500. Reserved cab will be cost around Rs. 5,000.The sightseeing cost will be around Rs. 2,000 per day. The food and accommodation cost will be around Rs. 1,800 per person per day. Overall, great places to visit in a 4-5 days tour. 

4] VARKALA

Our final pick is the beautiful Kerala destination Varkala. Unlike the overcrowded Kovalam, Munnar, Tekkady or Alleppey, this Arabian Seaside town of the state is one of most beautiful locations here, so you can visit the place without any fear of the viral infection. At this place, you can enjoy nature, serenityu, closeness to the sea and at the time you may enjoy some adventurous water sports activities if you are an adventure sports lover. Some of the prime locations to visit here are Varkala Beach and Cliff, Sri Janardhanaswamy Temple, Thiruvambadi beach. 

How To Reach Here : Varkala town is well connected by road or train. The city has its own railway station and the nearest international airport is Trivandrum. International Airport, which is approximately 40 km away from the town. Cab fare from Trivandrum International Airport to Varkala is around Rs. 2,000. Sightseeing cost will be around Rs. 1,000 per day here. The food and accommodation cost will be around Rs. 1,800 per person per day. In a nutshell, it is a safe and scenic place to enjoy for your short vacation. One thing i would like to mention here that the charges we mention may vary depending upon season time and other unavoidable circumstances.

Today we are going to share a tour plan of one of the most beautiful city of India Jaipur. Jaipur is also popular as a pink city. Pink city is the city that was built in the year 1727 by Maharaja Jay Sing 2. The city is also home of few UNESCO World Heritage site Amber Fort, Jantar mantar.

DAY 1 :
First reach Jaipur from any part of the country. Jaipur can be reached both by train air or road. By air you can go to Jaipur International airport and by train you can reach to Jaipur station. From Indian capital New Delhi Jaipur can be reached by road. It would take almost five and half hours tor each Jaipur from Delhi by road. This road trip is one of the best road trips in India. A local cab will charge around Rs. 3500 for this trip. At the entrance of Jaipur you can enjoy the beauty of Aravalli hills. After reaching Jaipur check into your hotel. In the Afternoon start your tour with a trip around Pink City. The city Jaipur was founded in the year 1727 by the Rajput Ruller Maharaja Jaising 2 after whom the city is named. It is the earliest planned city of Mordern India which is designed by Vidyadhar Bhatttachary. Currently this is the capital city of Largest State of the country Rajasthan.

DAY 2 :
After breakfast first go to visit the three famous forts of Jaipur city. The three forts of Jaipur are Jaigarh, Nahargarh and Amber Fort. A reserved car will charge around Rs 2500 for a whole day trip. First go to Jaigarh fort. We stayed near Jaipur station and it took around 40 minutes to reach Jaigarh fort from that place. After crossing the main city territory, you will be exposed to the rustic beauty of the Aravalli hills. Needless to say, that will be an amazing experience. Jaigarh fort is situated on top of a hill which is locally known as “Cheel ka teela” which means Hill of Eagles. The fort was built in the year 1726 by Sawai JaiSingh II. The fort is surrounded by a thick red sandstone wall. You can enjoy a walk around the fort wall and experience the past glory of this fort. From the small opening of the fort wall you can see the beautiful Maota Lake at a distance and the gorgeous Jaipur city lying at the base of this hill. And it is famously known as the 'Fort of Victory' as it was never conquered. Right now, the fort houses "Jaivana" which is the largest canon on wheels. Currently, Indian Army is taking care of this canon. This fort is a major tourist attraction of Jaipur city and experiences a large number of visitors every day. The entry fee here is Rs 150 per person for foreigners and Rs 70 person for Indian tourists. The fort is open from 9 Am to 5 PM. From Jaigarh fort go to visit Nahargarh fort.

Nahargarh Fort is another major fort of Jaipur city. Situated on the edge of Aravalli Hills this fort is famous for amazing views of the surroundings. The view of Jaipur city from here is worth mentioning. Nahargarh Fort was built in the year 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Entry fee here is Rs 20 per head for Indian tourists and Rs 70 per head for foreigners. The fort is open from 10 Am to 5 PM all days. After entering the fort, first go to see the Wax Museum and a model of ancient Sheesh Mahal. You have to purchase separate ticket to enter the premises. The ticket price here is Rs 150 per person. Next, go to see the water tank of the fort. In ancient time, the royals used to store their daily usage water here. Behind the water tank there is a step well. This step well is famous for its stunning architecture. From there go to visit Madhavendra Bhavan. It is the summer palace of the royal family. The palace has 9 identical two-story suites, all of these suites were once the residence of the nine queens of Jaipur. Every apartment had the name of the queen written on top of the entrance. The main attractive part of this palace is its roof. It is famous for its amazing views of the surrounding city. You can enjoy a walk around this roof. Inside Nahargarh fort, there is a fine dining restaurant “Once Upon a time”. You can enjoy your lunch here. From Nahargarh fort go to visit Amber fort.

Here, you have to park your reserved car at the base of the hill. From there either take a jeep or enjoy elephant ride to reach the main Fort complex. The fare of a jeep is Rs 500 for 6 people and the elephant ride will cost Rs 1100 for 2 people. The Jeep enters the fort from the back side and you have to get down outside the main entrance. From there you have to cover the fort tour on foot. If you are taking elephant ride then it will bring you straight to the first courtyard through the front gate. There are three courtyards inside Amber fort. After crossing the main entrance of the fort you will enter into the first courtyard. At the far end of this courtyard, stands the Temple of  Shila Devi. Through another pathway beside the temple entrance you will be able to enter into the second courtyard of the Fort. In the second courtyard, first, visit the Diwan-i-am or the public audience hall. Passing the Diwan i am, you will find the beautifully designed gate Ganesh Pol. Entering through which you will come to the main palace complex. On one side of the palace complex stands the famous Sheesh Mahal or the main residence of the king. On the walls of Sheesh Mahal, you can see the beautiful artwork of thousands of convex mirrors. On the other side of the ground, you will see the Sukh Mahal or the summer and monsoon palace of the queen. Here, you can see a passage inside the queen’s bedroom. Once, water used to flow through this passage in order to make this room cool in the summer days. In between these two palaces, lies a beautiful garden. Passing this ground you will enter into the women’s quarter where the palaces of 12 queens of the king stand. Each palace had a two-story construction in which there were a separate bedroom, dining room and dressing room. At the centre of this women’s quarter, lies the third courtyard of the palace. This was a highly secured place. There is a two-story structure which surrounds this courtyard. At the back side of the main palace, there was the royal kitchen. Here you can see the huge cooking pots which were used for cooking in past days. Entry fee here is Rs 100 for Indian tourists and Rs 550 for Foreigners. Amber fort is open from 10 am to 5.30 pm. In the evening you can enjoy light and sound show here. The ticket price is Rs 150 per person. From Amber fort, go to visit Jal Mahal. The Jal Mahal palace is an architectural brilliance. The palace was built in red sandstone and is a five-storied structure, of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full. Right now, it is not accessible to tourists. You can enjoy the beauty of Jal Mahal from the side of the Lake.

DAY 3 :
In morning, first go to visit Albert Hall Museum. Albert Hall is the oldest museum and the State Museum of Rajasthan. It is also called the Government Central Museum. In the front hall of this museum, you can see beautiful Paintings of all the kings of Jaipur. In the inner hall, you can see a rich collection of jewellery, carpets, stone and metal sculptures and crystal artworks. Ticket fare is Rs 10 per head for Indian tourists and Rs 150 for foreigners. The museum is open from 9 Am to 5 PM. From Albert Hall Museum go to City Palace and Hawa Mahal. The City Palace is famous for its magnificent architecture and is one of the major tourist attractions of the city. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during the years 1729 to 1732. From there go to visit Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799. It derives its name from its unique structure, which is a network of small windows that allows cool wind to enter the palace to keep it comfortable during the hot summer days. Hawa Mahal palace is a five-story building. It has been decorated with 953 tiny windows which are also known as 'Jharokhas'. Each Jharokha is designed with gorgeous latticework. There is a slop in every floor that leads to another floor. Only the fourth floor has a steep stair case that leads to fifth floor. From the top of the palace, you can get a dazzling view of the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Siredeori Bazar. The entry fee here is Rs 40 per head for Indian visitors. The Palace is open for the tourists from 9 AM to 5 PM From there, go to visit Jantar Mantar. Jantar Mantar is the largest stone astronomical observatory in the world. Due to its rich cultural and scientific value, Jantar Mantar of Jaipur is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are numerous hotels and resorts available in Jaipur. INDIA'S GOLDEN TRIANGLE TOUR PLAN - DELHI AGRA JAIPUR PART 1


In This Post we are going to share the Delhi Agra Jaipur tour plan. This famous tourist circuit is also popular as India’s Golden triangle. It connects our capital city Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. It is called Golden Triangle because of the triangular shape formed by the locations of New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on a map.The circuit is about 720 km by road. Each destination is about 4 to 6 hours of drive from another. Let’s start the tour.

DAY - 1
On day-1, reach the national Capital New Delhi either by train or air from any part of the country. Upon reaching New Delhi check into your hotel. 

DAY - 2 
On 2nd day of your tour go for Delhi sightseeing. A local cab will charge around Rs 2000 for whole day tour. First go to Lotus Temple. Lotus Temple is a building dedicated to the Baha'i faith. This magnificent structure is look alike of a stunning white petal lotus. The building was completed in the year 1986. The Lotus temple is one of the seven Baha'i Houses of  Worship present around the world. Currently, it is one of the most visited tourist spots in New Delhi. The park surrounding the temple is well kept. You can enjoy a walk around this calm and quiet park. During peak hours, you can see many people walking around this park and taking selfies.Your next destination will be Qutub Minar. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Mehrauli and its construction was started in 1192 by Qutb Ud-Din-Aibak, the then Sultan of Delhi. It is the tallest individual tower in the world and second tallest monument of Delhi. The first Muslim ruler of Delhi, Qutab-ud-dinAibak, started the construction of the Qutab Minar in 1200 AD, but could only finish the basement. His successor, Iltutmush, added the next three storeys. In 1368, Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the fifth and the last storey. Even though in ruins, the Quwwat Ui Islam (Light of Islam) Mosque in the Qutab complex is one of the most magnificent structures in the world.

It was the first mosque built in Delhi after the Islamic conquest of India. In front of the Mosque, there is the famous iron pillar of Qutub Complex. The iron pillar is one of the world's foremost metallurgical curiosities. At the back of the complex you can see an L-shaped construction. It consists of Alauddin Khilji's tomb and a madrasa built by him.Currently, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions of Delhi. Most of the time, you can see a large crowd roaming around this place and taking pictures. Entry fee here is Rs 40 per person for Indian Tourist and Rs 200 per person for foreigners. Camera charge is Rs 30 From Qutub Minar go to Raisina Hill. The area houses India's most important government buildings, including Rashtrapati Bhavan,the official residence of the President of India and the Secretariat building housing the Prime Minister's Office and several other important ministries. The hill is a slightly elevated portion higher than the surrounding area. There are two blocks here. The building on the left hand side is the defence Ministry. The building on the right hand side is the Secretariat building housing the Prime Minister's Office. Behind this you can see Rashtrapati Bhavan,the official residence of the President of India. Next go to Ugrasen ki Baoli . 



Ugrasen ki Baoli is an ancient water reservoir which rises from the depths of the earth to stand atop 103 stone steps. This is a quiet place located in the middle of busy Connaught place. The place is popular for serene experience and an ideal sight for photography lovers. From Agrasen ki Baoli go to visit famous Red Fort. This is probably the most popular and commonly known place of New Delhi. The Red Fort is a historical fortification located in the centre of the city. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty. The fort was constructed by Shah Jahan as a result of a capital shift from Agra to Delhi. It became a UNESCO world heritage site in 2007. The main entrance of the fort is Lahori Gate. It is named so because of its orientation towards the city of Lahore. After entering through Lahori Gate, there is a small market named chhatta chowk which sells local hand made products. You may enjoy some shopping here. This market leads to an open outer court. In the east wall of the court stands the now-isolated Naubat khanaor the drum house. On the far side of the inner court is the Diwan-i-Aam, the Public Audience Hall. The courtyard behind it leads to the imperial apartments. The building at the far right is Rang mahal or the residence of emperor’s wives. Beside it was the Khas Mahal or emperor’s apartment. On the left side of Khas Mahal stood Diwan-i-khas. Beside it, you can see hamam or Royal bath. West of the hammam is the Moti Masjid, the Pearl Mosque. Entry fee here is Rs 50 per person for Indian Tourist and Rs 200 per person for foreigners. Audio guided tour charge is Rs 200. Next go to visit Chittaranjan Park Kali Bari. This serene temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is an auspicious place for all Hindu devotees.

Our next destination is India Gate. The All India War Memorial, popularly known as the India Gate is located along the Rajpath in New Delhi. The grand structure of India Gate is an awe-inspiring sight. This 42-meter tall historical structure is one of the largest war memorials in the country. It is also a treat for architecture lovers. Dedicated to 82,000 Indian and British soldiers who died during the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War, this monument has the names of 13,300 servicemen inscribed on its surface. The foundation stone of this structure was laid down in the year 1921, and the final building was unveiled in the year 1931.The premises of India Gate also house the Amar Jawan Jyoti, which is a kindled structure right underneath the archway. Built in 1971 post the Bangladesh Liberation War, the Amar Jawan Jyoti symbolises the eternal, immortal soldiers of India.Currently this is the most crowded tourist attraction of the city. 

Every time you will see people roaming around the complex and taking pictures.Behind India Gate, take a tour of National War memorial which is also a beautiful place to visit. The National War Memorial is a monument constructed by the Government of India in the vicinity of the India Gate to honour its Armed Forces. It was established on 25th February,2019. Names of martyrs killed in wars are inscribed on the memorial walls.A War Museum will be also constructed in the adjoining Princess Park area. Try to visit here at the time of sunset. At sunset you can enjoy the retreat ceremony here. At this place we finish our Delhi tour. The next we will move towards Agra. Agra is a place famous for stunning architecture. The city was once the capital of Mughal rulers and is home to one of the seven wonders of the world Taj Mahal. At Delhi, you will find numerous hotels and resorts of different budget range for night stay. After Delhi tour we will start our journey towards Agra from Delhi. Agra is a beautiful city located on the banks of River Yamuna in the Indian state Uttar Pradesh. The city was once the capital of Famous Mughal Rulers. Currently, it is one of the prime tourist attractions of the country as it has some most notable Mughal-era buildings like TajMahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri. All of these places are now UNESCO World Heritage sites. Let’s start the tour. 



DAY - 3
On a 3rd day early in the morning, start for Agra from the capital city of India New Delhi. The distance of Agra from New Delhi is 233.1 Km via Taj Express Highway or Yamuna Expressway. By road, this is the shortest route from New Delhi to Agra. A local cab will charge around Rs 3000 for a whole day Agra tour from Delhi. It will take around 4 hours to reach Agra from Delhi via this road. The road has many lanes so that it is impossible to get slowed down in this road due to traffic. Moreover, the condition of this road is perfect. Hence, you can expect a speedy, no disturbance journey here. However, there is one disadvantage here, though nominal, this route has toll taxes. Other than private cars, there are also train and bus services available from Delhi to Agra. A train will take around 2 hours to reach Agra from Delhi. The fare is around Rs 150 per person. Bus fare is around Rs. 400 per person. Upon reaching Agra 1st go to visit Taj Mahal.

It is one of the most visited tourist attractions of India. If you are visiting Taj Mahal by your own car then you have to get down from your car 1 Km before the main building because the parking space of  Taj Mahal is 1 Km ahead of the main building. From there you can avail battery operated cars, buses, local horse carts or rickshaws to go to the adjacent ticket counter of the Taj Mahal. The bus rate is Rs 10 per person and the battery operated car rate is Rs 20 per person. The entry fee for Taj Mahal is Rs 50 for Indian tourists, Rs 1110 for foreign tourists and Rs 540 for citizens of  SAARC and BIMSTEC countries. There is one additional charge of Rs 200 for visiting the main mausoleum which is optional. Children up to 15 years are free to enter the premises. 

Taj Mahal is an integrated complex of structures. The main building of this complex is the famous ivory-white marble Mausoleum which the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had built in the memory of his loving wife Mumtaz Mahal to house her tomb. This is a UNESCO world heritage site and also was declared as a winner of the new 7 wonders of the world. The place attracts 7-8 million visitors from all over the world throughout the year. If you are visiting the main mausoleum then you have to purchase disposable shoe cover which will be charged Rs 20 per pair. After entering through the main entrance you will see a long passageway passing through a well-manicured garden. In the middle of the passageway, there is a beautiful water fountain. On a public holiday or Sunday, you will see a large crowd roaming here and there and taking pictures in front of this wonder of the World. The view of the Yamuna River and surrounding from the basement of the main mausoleum needs a special mention. From Taj Mahal move towards Agra Fort. This is another UNESCO world heritage site. The fort was once the main residence of great Mughal emperors and it was built and redesigned by three great emperors of Mughal dynasty Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan. After you enter through the main entrance the 1st building you will see is the Jahangiri Mahal. It was built by Emperor Akbar. The building was built with red sandstone. It is a two-storied building and was once the main residence of Emperors Akbar and Jahangir. 

You will be amazed by the beautiful architecture of this palace. Moving from this palace you will come to the Diwan-i-aam or the public Audience hall. This is a beautiful hallway famous for notable artwork on its pillars. Behind Diwan-i-aam, there are the main imperial buildings built by Emperor Shah Jahan. The garden in front of the buildings is known as anguri bag. Behind it, you can see the residence of Emperor Shah Jahan and his two daughters Jahanara and Roshanara. Unlike Jahangiri Mahal, these buildings are built by white marble stones. Throughout the year you can see a large number of tourists visiting this beautiful fort and enjoying themselves. In the evening you can be entertained by alight and sound show here. You can also purchase the entry tickets of these two places online. There are numerous hotels and resorts available in Agra where you can put up for the night. All of them have online booking facilities.
